September flew by. It was so good to see our friends Troy and Becca who were in Colorado Springs for a training before they flew out in October to their new home in Kenya. Our hearts and prayers are with them. Aricin had a blast playing with their girls (Dakota and Kate) they have another girl on the way in January that they will have in Kenya. Our good friends the Conrads also came out to visit for a few days- Aricin loved being chased around the house by Kirsten who is a week younger than him.

I found myself busy with Volleyball which has been soo much fun!!! My girls Frosh/Soph girls were undefeated until last week when i was out sick and i just found out they lost their first game. Soooo sad. This is the last week of our season and i'm honestly bummed- i forgot how much i love volleyball- I'm already looking forward to next season. Did i mention my girls beat the JV team- ok i'm done bragging about them. So i mentioned i got sick... boy did i get sick... I got the swine flu and then passed it onto Aricin. They had to put me on Tamiflu and Tussinex - 2 meds that aren't great for pregnant people but the doctors said the Risks of not being on them were greater then taking them. I'm finally starting to feel better despite and nasty cough that won't seem to go away. Aricin is also getting better and as for Aaron - he's been healthy up until this morning- hopefully he doesn't have the Swine Flu and it's just a cold. Aaron's been busy with Waterpolo coaching on Mondays and he's teaching a class at our church on sundays exploring C.S.Lewis's book The Voyage of the Don Treader. He's also having fun teaching Ethics and Bible Survey this semester at Valor.

We are getting more and more anxious for the arrival of our little girl. We just can't wait to meet her and i'm starting to get a little crazy. Nesting has set in as well as the Braxton Hicks contractions. I feel like we're getting close (I'm currently 35.5 weeks and had Aricin at 37.5 weeks) The doctor says babies born at altitude typicaly come early and are typically lighter then sea level babies. I'm a little nervous about the transition and craziness of having an infant again. I'm praying she won't be colicky like her brother and that i will be able to survive with the sleep deprivation.

They had to eat Sweet Potatoe baby food at the end of one of the games- a Relay
They also had to drink a baby bottle of water
In the begining of the Relay they had to change the diaper before swaddling the baby and putting it in a baby backpack/ bjorn/ or sling and taking it for a quick run.
I hope they don't change their real baby like this when she comes :)
It was awesome- all the couples got way into it.
And it was a dress up party... We dressed up as Pirates

The Gautiers came as Rappers (thanks to a friend that's an undercover officer)

So we wanted to throw a shower for our good friends Hayes and Kelly who are expecting their first kiddo- a girl about a month after us. We decided to make it a couples shower and assign different themes for everyone to come dressed as- which made it more fun for sure.

We also had everyone decorate onesies in advance which was a cool surprise for the couple. Most of the decorations and recipes i got from the Hostess with the Mostess Website- one of my favs.

The food turned out well from the Chocolate Chip cookie cake to the Oreo Truffles to the Chocolate Croissants. The games were a hit. We started with playing 2 truths and a lie with everyone and trying to read people. The next game was a little gross but it's one of Aaron's favs- we melted 6 different candy bars in diapers and then mashed it up- everyone had to guess what candy was in which diaper. Game number three was similar to pictionary only with Play dough. Each couple had to scuplt different things like a bottle, pacifier, baby back ribs, etc. It was pretty funny. The last game was a pretty elaborate relay involving both the husbands and the wives. It started with them changing the baby doll's diaper and then swaddling the doll in a blanket before handing it off to their partner who wore the doll either in a baby backpack, bjorn, or sling and had to run down into our living room around the coffee table and back to the kitchen where their partner fed them a jar of sweet potatoe baby food then it finished with one of the partners downing a baby bottle of water. Lots of Laughs were had.

We love to entertain and can't wait for the opporunity to have another party sometime soon.

Tractor Time

August went by way tooo fast. I dont' even know where to begin. I turned the big 3-0 this month and my parents surprised me and flew out. We went up to Vail with them for the weekend which was awesome! I got a job at Valor coaching the Frosh/soph Volleyball team. I am soo enjoying coaching and think we are going to have a good season. Despite being very pregnant i'm still able to hit and serve at them. I can't wait for next year when i can jump in and actually play. I'm almost 30 weeks now and the baby is super active, the last few days she's gotten the hiccups in the morning and has started kicking me in the hips of all places- she's trying to maximize the real estate in there. Overall i'm feeling good- starting to have some back pain and am starting to feel fatigued, which might be from coaching. Aaron makes fun of me because i usually fall asleep right after Aricin (around 8:30). Aaron has been quite the work horse finishing our new deck and our Master Bath. He's a crafty one and has been busy being back at school with his two new classes Intro to Ethics and Bible Survey. I usually drop Aricin off at his classroom a little before 4 while i go to Volleyball practice until 6. It was sad to see my brother off in August as he moved back to San Diego to finish up at Point Loma- we had a blast with him here and Aricin can't wait for him to visit again. Aricin is growing so fast and talking more along with climbing everything he can find. Our church nursery attendants call him their little monkey and spider man because they can't keep him off the furniture. I have to admit i've had a bit of an obsession this summer with Garage Saling. Highlands Ranch has some killer Garage Sales and for a couple bucks here and there i've manage to fill our house with an excess of toys we don't need but Aricin's not complaining. This summer was filled with lots of Bar-B-Q's with friends, afternoon rains, pool time, park time, day trips, and laughter. I still laugh at myself and how Anti-Colorado i was before we moved here. Coloardo is really an amazing state. The weather is awesome, the people are nice, and everyone is always outside doing something active. Please come visit, we love having guests!
